FACTS:

  3. It is the main cause of death in ages of 40-55 years old
  4. 70% of diagnoses are made by breast examination.
  5. 80% of palpable tumors is not cancer, so DO NOT PANIC. You should just inform your doctor.
  6. A mammography is an examination with relatively low radiation that can detect the disease 2 years before it grows so much that it can be palpable.

MYTHS:

  1. Any swelling found in the breast is cancer.
  2. Men can not suffer from breast cancer.
  3. Mammography can lead to spread of cancer.
  4. Having a relative with breast cancer means that you will also develop breast cancer.
  5. Breast cancer is a transmitted disease.
  6. Knowing that you have a mutation in BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes means you have prophylaxis from breast cancer.
