The diastasis recti abdominis is a similar but different problem, which can be distinguished only by an experienced surgeon and surgical treatment is not required, but only for aesthetic reasons.
The risk of incarceration is high. Surgery is the only treatment. It can be performed laparoscopically, but the ideal method is the reconstruction under local anesthesia, with the patient being discharged on the same day.
